We are seeking applications for the position of Incharge Shariah Compliance. Interested candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply online.

Job responsibilities:

·        Acting as conduit between the SA and the management of the Bank.

·         To review all the proposals and related agreements, contracts, manuals, process flows, checklists etc submitted by management before presenting them to the SA for approval.

·         To provide necessary support to the Bank’s business units, branches and Head Office departments in their day to day Shariah related issues, queries etc under the guidance/advice of the SA.

·         To keep continuous watch on the Bank’s Shariah compliance environment.

·         To ensure that all the organs of Shariah Governance and enforcement of SA directives by management etc are operative and effectively undertaking their respective functions as defined in the SGF.

·         To conduct Shariah internal control review, on sample basis, of the Bank’s business units, branches, and other Head Office departments under the supervision of SA.

·         To submit all the reports of internal Shariah audit, external Shariah audit and extract of SBP’s inspection report on Shariah compliance to SA for information and for prescribing appropriate corrective actions.

·         Incharge SC shall be responsible to execute and implement the corrective actions prescribed by the SA and follow-ups with the management.

·         To take up the unresolved issues with the management and shall include all significant outstanding issues in its annual Shariah compliance report to be published in the annual report of the bank.

·         To keep record of all unresolved issues requiring compliance and shall apprise the SA of their status at least on half yearly basis.

·         Incharge SC shall facilitate Training Department to develop the training material and to organize Shariah trainings activities, as per approved training plan.

·         To ensure that necessary training has been imparted to all the Islamic banking staff and that periodic refresher courses are also organized by HRD to keep the staff abreast with the latest developments in the field.

·         Incharge SC shall submit a report regarding the status of compliance of audit observations to the SA for information on a periodic basis.

·         Any other task assigned by Management.

Qualification:

Minimum Bachelor degree Preferably MBA/MS in Islamic Finance or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.

Experience and Eligibility:

·         Minimum 5 Year relevant experience (Shariah and/or Banking)

·         Good comprehension understanding of Arabic and English language

Job Location:           

Presently Bahawalpur to be shifted to Islamabad in near future.
