Job Description:
  • Communicate and coordinate with existing clients and providing them complete solution regarding their shipments
  • Manage logistics operation and coordinate with transporters and agents for contracting and subcontracting. Must have a fair understanding of logistics and supply chain operation.
  • Prepare tender documents, RFP, RFQ's; cost-benefit analysis
  • Work on customer base and marketing strategies for the development of business
  • Ensure close coordination with other departments i.e. finance, procurement, engineering etc. The position would be responsible for delivering objectives which are assigned to the position from time to time
  • Analyses sales and other reports that give insight into how a company can make adjustments to improve performance
  • Assists commercial directors and works as a member of a cohesive team Resolves issues with contracts and commercial operations
  • Communicates with parties in a contract so that all understand the terms, particularly a contract's financial aspects
  • Assesses risks and makes recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business situation
  • Driving business through creating and articulating value propositions by understanding the customers’ business, map existing supply chain and identify opportunities
  • Establish and maintain a structured approach to securing business
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with customers and decision makers of cargo movements and with key stakeholders, i.e. Port Authorities / Port Operators /Custom Officials/ Logistic providers/ industrial zones
  • Regularly review the competitive scenario in the local market and identify opportunities for future growth potential
  • Provides Periodic     Commercial      reports i.e. Customer progress/volume achievement etc.
  • Maintains customer database, with customer and company profile
  • Assist in ensuring that a continuous knowledge of industry & market trends is maintained/shared.
  •  The incumbent will be expected to contribute to making improvements to existing systems, practices & approaches & to assist in influencing productivity issues & working methods to meet customer needs
  •  Develop a knowledge of the general cargo & container business requirements in order to seek out Commercial opportunities
  •  Compliance to provisions of the relevant Safety policies & procedures, terminal rules & regulations and contribute to the continual improvement process.
  •  Develop self, and maintain knowledge in the relevant field at all times. Accepts extra duties as situations arise

PIBT has been setup as the Countrys first terminal for handling Coal, Clinker and Cement on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis at Port Qasim Authority.

Port Qasim is located Fifty Kilometres from Karachi, on the coast line of the Arabian Sea. It has a forty five kilometer long navigation channel which provides safe and convenient navigation for vessels. Port Qasim handles more than 40% of Pakistans cargo.

PIBT has built capacity for handling upto 12m tons of Coal and 4 million tons of Cement Clinker per year, which can together be further enhanced upto 20 million tons per year.

PIBT has been set up for handling and delivering coal to Power and Cement plants by utilizing the rail, road and sea networks. PIBT has become an integral part of the coal supply chain upto the entry gates of power and cement plants located across the country.
